About Me

My photo
I'm Mary-Catherine. Mother of two sons and a daughter, wife of Econ Man, a frequent traveler full of wonderlust. By day a profoundly exhausted Domestic Engineer: a cook, a referee, a psychologist, a nanny, a house cleaner, a computer operator, teacher, personal chauffer, laundress, interior designer, administrative assistant, bookkeeper, handy gal, groundskeeper, nutritionist, RN, logistics analyst, and day care teacher--all in all CEO of my domain. In a former life, a painter, a sculptor, a poet, a designer, a reader, an academic. But a woman who spurns definition by just one. My blogs chart our family's journeys around the world, searching out those unbelievable moments, both mundane and profound, that make me so happy to be alive.

In Search of Perfection

If the thought of French food doesn't make your mouth water, this blog probably isn't for you. It's about food. Lots of food. All kinds of food. European food, which as you can imagine, is a vast cornacopia of flavors and variety. And we love food. It's been a passion for us as a couple. And traveling Europe has provided us with a decadent experience of culinary delights.

I began this blog with a simple idea in mind: To chart our path through the culinary landscape of Europe. To discover food in large cities and small towns. To make a trip more than just a trip, but a true adventure of discovery. I'm after perfection and beauty--not just in food and it's presentation, or in architecture or art, but in the perfect trip itself.

Our first documented trip is a 10th Anniversary trip to Brussels and Paris. 7 days. 17 restaurants, cafes and bars. 2 eager parents who can't wait to get away together to stuff ourselves and enjoy the quiet without the kids!
